Ilan Roth

Ilan Roth emigrated as a child from Communist Poland to the West Coast. After obtaining a PhD, he arrived at the Space Sciences Laboratory at UC Berkeley. He has been involved in theoretical and numerical research of numerous electromagnetic phenomena in the Aurora, magnetosphere, Sun, heliosphere or with applications to astrophysics. After 35 years he nominally retired while continuing his research, mainly in mathematical applications to magnetized plasma.
